Alan Domínguez

A Chicanx border crosser since birth, Alan is Denver-based with Nuevo Mexicano roots. He is an Emmy-winning filmmaker and his films have addressed many subjects, with his gravitational point being the unique cultural fabric and social landscapes of the Southwestern United States and his hometown of Denver. Driven by an ethos of community-based filmmaking in balancing how the past lives with the present, his films have examined migration, mass incarceration, the performing arts, mental health and environmental issues in the Latine community. A Sundance Producers Lab Fellow, a Sundance Latine Fellow, a Sundance Producers Intensive fellow, Big Sky Pitch participant, and a Tribeca Creator’s Market participant - Alan’s films have received support from American Masters, Firelight Media, the Sundance Institute, the MacArthur Foundation, PBS, Corporation for Public Broadcasting, World Channel, Latino Public Broadcasting, the AXS Film Fund, and History Colorado. His films have been to film festivals throughout the USA, Mexico, and Europe and have been broadcast on national and local PBS outlets as well as Hulu. He is a Latino Leadership Institute Fellow and a Firelight Media Beyond Resilience panelist.
