Firelight Media and American Masters present the second season of the documentary series In the Making. What happens when an artist holds up a mirror to the world? This documentary shorts series follows emerging cultural icons on their journeys to becoming masters of their artistic disciplines. Across nine episodes, meet creatives who are making work that explores and influences American culture today.

Tony Award–winning actress and singer Audra McDonald hosts the broadcast premiere of American Masters: In the Making, which features two films focused on two barrier–breaking musicians: J’Nai Bridges (Unamplified, dir. Christine Turner) and Rissi Palmer (Still Here, dir. Dilsey Davis).

In addition to the television broadcast of American Masters: In the Making, seven unique short films round out the full season roster and will premiere weekly beginning Tuesday, March 14 on YouTube, pbs.org/americanmasters, and the PBS App. The digital–first episodes of In the Making include: Lily Gladstone: Far Out There (dir.
