Chica Andrade is a Brazilian director, producer, and screenwriter and one of the organizers of the Association of Trans Audiovisual Professionals. She co-directed Segura Essa Pose, an original Globoplay documentary series. Chica is the director and co-writer of House Of Hilton, a biographical feature-length documentary about Erika Hilton, and scene director of the interview program Retrato Íntimo. We Are All Here, her first fictional short, was eligible for an Oscar in 2018 and received awards at 42 renowned festivals such as Kurzfilmtage Winterthur, La Plata, Gramado and Queer Lisboa. The short also opened the screening of the film Bacurau, at the Brazilian Cinema Night in Cannes. Chica is also an award-winning screenwriter at the 1º Negras Narrativas (2022) and Diáspora Lab (2023) laboratories.
House of Hilton delves deep into the life of Erika Hilton, a transgender woman who became a political icon in Brazil. Blending fiction and documentary, the film sheds light on the harsh reality of violence against the trans community.
