Kamran Rosen

BIOGRAPHY

Kamran Rosen is a Korean and Iranian-American award-winning writer and director whose work has centered on how the human spirit manifests when denied full freedom of existence. His animation Stages Of Lost Freedom, which details the emotional experience of long-term incarceration, won Best Short Documentary at Lift Off International Film Festival and the Boston Film Festival, and the Jury Award at Berlin International Short Fest. His podcast Let’s Talk About Race featured a two-part series with the then National Congress of American Indians President, Fawn Sharp, and Donnie Wetzel Jr., founder of the Montana Indian Athletic Hall of Fame. That podcast episode became the genesis of this project, after Donnie invited him to Montana to cover the story of Native athletes in more depth. A member of the Zoroastrian minority, Kamran knows intimately the responsibility and urgency of a people facing cultural extinction. His ethos is to use the power of film to remind us of the core humanity we all share.
