A filmmaker with a degree in Film and Television from the National University of Colombia, Alfredo Marimon Carcamo's cinematic work has viewed the Afro-diasporic communities of the Caribbean as an interconnected universe. Through his films, he explores the worlds of young people who live and grow up amidst the region's daily tensions, marked by violence, inequality, identity, and their relationship to their land. His work has been selected for the Oberhausen International Short Film Festival, Entrevues Belfort, ZINEBI, the Havana Film Festival, and MIDBO, among others. Since 2022, he has served as a curator at the Cartagena International Film Festival, and since 2025, he has been involved in developing public policy for the audiovisual sector in Cartagena, leading the Cartagena Film Commission.
