Jr Rodriguez

Jr is a first generation bilingual Mestizo director, photographer and BIPOC activist. His work focuses on the intersectional relationship between nature and people with projects that empower communities to tell their own stories. His recent work includes Soñadora (Migrant Voices Today Film Challenge x San Diego Latino Film Festival), a film for immigrants, women, people of color, and all of those who fight to exist in spaces that were not made for them; Wading for Change (People’s Choice Houston Latino Film Festival), a documentary on BIPOC fly fishermen in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. He is currently completing Across Together: The Return Film Expedition, a feature following a young cohort’s transformative journey to climb Citlaltépetl and discovering that the true summit lies in reclaiming their identities and reconnecting with their roots.
