Jota Sosnowski (they/them) is a filmmaker who is especially moved to tell stories that promote social justice. Most recently they edited the Emmy nominated Netflix series, Who Killed Malcolm X? Jota is also a 2020 Karen Schmeer Fellowship Diversity Program Mentee. Between Goodbyes is their directorial debut. As a queer Korean Adoptee this film is very close to Jota’s heart.
Between Goodbyes is a hybrid documentary that reframes adoption as a form of family separation through the intimate voices of a queer adoptee and her birth mother.
