Elbert Garcia

Elbert Garcia, a Dominican-American based in Miami, is a communications strategist & coach dedicated to organizing community voices for change.  Born and raised in Washington Heights, Garcia has spent the the last two decades working in both traditional power-wielding institutions and alternative, community-based, power-building organizations across education, government and the media.

In addition to guiding individuals and non-profits on their messaging needs, Garcia also serves as the Senior Interactive Producer at social justice media site Law@theMargins and as a co-host/executive producer of Que Lo Que, a weekly podcast that spotlights Dominican-Americans who are making an impact on communities around the world. The proud father and husband is an alumnus of the Prep for Prep and National Urban Fellows programs and holds a B.A. in Urban Studies from Columbia University and a Master’s in Public Administration from CUNY’s Baruch College.
