Weenta Girmay [she/her] is the Regional Initiatives Coordinator for Firelight Media. In this role, she supports the Director of Regional Initiatives to organize Firelight's Groundwork Regional Lab and HOMEGROWN Shorts Series. Her background is in independent film producing with a focus on telling southern stories and supporting underrepresented filmmakers. Her past work has been supported by the Tribeca Film Institute, screened at the New Orleans Film Festival, and Camden International Film Festival.
