New York University’s Fusion Film Festival spotlights the contributions of women and nonbinary creators in TV, film, and new media in its annual celebration March 4-7, 2026. This year’s edition honors Loira Limbal with the Industry Visionary Award and Emma Seligman (Shiva Baby and Bottoms) as Artist of the Year.
The four-day event also includes a pitch competition, masterclasses, and panel discussions. The festival concludes with a screening and awards ceremony. The student-run festival is held at the Tisch School of the Arts, 721 Broadway in New York City.
The Fusion Film Festival opens March 4 with an invitation-only Industry Visionary Luncheon honoring Limbal, a multi-media artist and chief executive and president of Firelight Media, the renowned documentary development company. Limbal directed the award-winning documentary, Through the Night, a cinema verité portrait of three working mothers.
“Fusion provides a valuable opportunity to grow my filmmaking and leadership skills while also getting to connect with iconic industry leaders and artists,” said Camden Colquhuon, Co-Head of Fusion’s photo-video team. “Loira Limbal’s work as both a filmmaker and Firelight Media’s president is an astonishing example of artist activism at the highest level.”
