In Here, Hopefully, filmmaker Hao Zhou follows Zee, a nonbinary nursing student from rural China, as they seek to build a sustainable and gender-affirming life in Iowa City. As Zee approaches graduation, they work tirelessly to pass their nursing exam in order to remain in the U.S despite the social isolation they face as an international student.
