Jonathan Kitt is excited to join Firelight Media as Director of Development. In this role, he leads the organization’s fundraising strategy and operations, helping to articulate Firelight’s mission and vision to existing and prospective donors. Jonathan worked at The WNET Group (THIRTEEN) for many years, most recently as the Individual Giving officer for its Leadership Giving program. He has also held development positions at Creative Capital, MAPP International Productions, and the Public Theater. Before moving into development at cultural institutions, Jonathan worked as a professional musical theater actor, performing in productions of RENT, Big River, AIDA, and Die Fledermaus, among others.
He is a recipient of the Association of Fundraising Professionals’ Maurice Gurin scholarship and has been a guest lecturer at University of Michigan, Drexel University, and the Social Theory, Politics, and the Arts (STPA) Conference. Jonathan is a proud graduate of both The Pennsylvania State University and Drexel University. He is a member of the Arts Administrators of Color Network (AACN) and serves on the Board of the Upper Room AIDS Ministry (URAM) at Harlem United.
