ANDREA ORTEGA-WILLIAMS | HEAD OF PRODUCTION & DEVELOPMENT

Andrea Ortega Williams currently serves as the Head of Production and Development for Firelight Films, cultivating new projects and overseeing them through all phases of production. She has worked in film and television for over a decade, producing award-winning content for networks including Showtime, BET, MTV and A&E and screening at festivals around the world, including the Toronto, London, FESPACO and Urbanworld Film Festivals. She has also taught documentary film production and film history at Rutgers University and at youth media organizations around the city.

Ortega-Williams received a B.A. in African American Studies and Political Science from Yale University and an MFA in Film at the Tisch School of the Arts. She's received IFP's Gordon Parks Award for Emerging African American Filmmaker as well as awards from the New York Foundation for the Arts, Warner Brothers and New York Women in Film and Television. She is drawn to telling stories that ignite dialogue and inspire change.
